17 - Application of Complex-Wide Lessons Learned in Planning and Executing Future US Department of Energy Cleanups

The focus of these two panels is to build upon the US DOE Oak Ridge Operations Management Lessons Learned Workshop held in January 2006. This workshop shared lessons learned in several categories that pertain to cleanup scenarios for multiple DOE sites. The categories the panel will address will include baseline acceleration techniques, safety and security, and waste management. The objective of this panel will be to focus on the work ahead and take advantage of lessons learned from work previously performed across the DOE sites. Discussion and questions for the panelists will take place after presentations on each of the three topic areas. Panelists for the first two topic areas will be seated at the speakers table to start the session. Following discussion on the second topic area, panelists for the final topic area will be seated for their presentations and discussion. The panelists are: 1) Baseline Acceleration, Frazer Lockhart, DOE (Rocky Flats Closure Site) and Dennis Carr, Fluor Fernald; 2) Safety & Security, Gerald Boyd, DOE (Oak Ridge), Andy Phelps, Los Alamos National Security, George Jackson, Fluor Hanford, and Larry Brede, Wackenhut Services, Inc. and 3) Waste Management, Beth Sellers, US DOE (Idaho), Dave Swale, EnergySolutions (Savannah River Site) and Glenn Henderson, ECC/E2 (Columbus Closure Project, Ohio)
