Session 62 - Post RDD Event Urban Reoccupancy

This panel focused on the post event recovery efforts "lessons learned" from prior events with similar issues and discussed our readiness to actually return people to work and minimize the economic impact of an urban RDD event. Past events have shown that terrorists can successfully deploy a "radiological dispersion device" or "dirty bomb". Chechen separatists proved they could do it in 1998 when a Cs-137 source packaged with an explosive was discovered in Izmaylovsky Park, Moscow. The Russians proved they could do it in London when Po-210 was used to poison Alexander Litvinenko.
