The panel discussed approaches, as well as important lessons learned, associated with safely performing work in an era of declining budgets, increased requirements and greater transparency while achieving innovative site transformation initiatives. Panelists from the Hanford and Oak Ridge sites discussed the best practices in successful partnering, planning and collaboration with the workforce, the regulators and the community to achieve cost-effective remediation, enabling site revitalization. This panel focused on former Manhattan era sites and their transformation enabling both historic preservation and site reuse initiatives currently underway.
