Session 24 - Working Safely in Hazardous Environments

This panel focused on sharing lessons learned in improving worker safety. Topics included experience with implementing the new requirements stipulated in 10CFR851, the Department of Energy's (DOE) "Worker Safety and Health Program"; sharing DOE and contractor experience with the mentoring that is conducted as part of DOE's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), a particularly timely topic in light of the Secretary of Energy's renewed focus on VPP; and an indepth exchange of ideas on electrical severity index developed by EFCOG.
