Session 14 - Advanced Use of D&D Funds for the Transportation and Disposal of Large Component Legacy Waste
The panel discussed the advance use of decommissioning funds during power plant operations for transportation and disposal of large component legacy waste (e.g. steam generators and Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) heads) in lieu of storage and subsequent disposal during actual D&D. The panel discussed the proposed rulemaking and exemption, as well as the needs of the commercial power plant industry.
