How Do We Strengthen Safety Culture During Times of Change...or at Least Maintain the Status Quo?
There is one constant in the DOE Complex, and that is change. Whatever the change - operations to decommissioning, managing contractors, workforce restructuring - the outcome must be consistently achieved without degradation of safety performance and culture. This panel focused on the challenges faced by local leadership (DOE and the Contractor) when driving those necessary changes that support evolving mission requirements. Topics included respect for a site's cultural legacy, reinforcement of changed requirements and expectations, and blending cultures.
