This panel focuses on the successes and challenges of DOE high-level radioactive tank waste management, with an emphasis on doing more with what we have. Field site, headquarters, and non-US representatives will discuss approaches, results, and lessons learned in applying “LEAN” concepts to high-level waste management, increasing multi-site integration in areas of tank integrity and plant startup and commissioning, and other examples of process improvement to increase efficiency of tank waste storage and treatment operations.
