Several years ago, Oak Ridge accepted the challenge to make progress with expeditiously transitioning cleanup sites to the community for reuse through the Community Reuse Organization of East Tennessee (CROET). What does that progress look like in 2016? A new airport slated for construction on the former K-25 Gaseous Diffusion Plant site is about to become a reality. Thriving small businesses have flourished as agreements on land reuse are reached. This panel will present the challenges of ensuring that all parties’ needs are met during transition from a cleanup site to a private sector industrial park.
