This panel will focus on the plans, requirements, and status of efforts to establish one or more consolidated interim dry stores for used nuclear fuel (UNF) in the US. Discussion will include facilities required at a consolidated store for receiving UNF, transport of the fuel to the facility, siting and licensing, lessons learned from previous private storage initiatives, and the status and plans of two proposed private consolidated store facilities in the US.
