This two -part panel session will provide a deeper perspective of the challenges associated with decommissioning and clean-up activities at legacy nuclear sites in the UK and provide comparisons with the US. In a tough economic environment, how does the UK prioritize its spending, and balance the competing issues of the costs of cleaning up its sites while meeting stakeholder expectations, including those of the regulator? The panelists will further explore the importance and experiences of collaborating at the site and institution level to address these challenges. A US perspective will be provided.
