This panel session provided an update on the progress of the IFNEC and broadened the discussion to cover international co-operation in fuel-cycle activities more generally.  We also reported on IFNEC accomplishments in the past year including the SMR Workshop that was held in Jordan and also the development of an international Comprehensive Fuel Services approach, as well as discussed the whole fuel cycle in a global context. IFNEC is a grouping of over sixty participants and observers governments interested in developing or expanding nuclear energy. 

Panelists include: Ed McGinnis, Deputy Assistant Secretary, US DOE;  Doug Tonkay, Program Manager, US DOE EM; John Mathieson, Head of International Relations, UK NDA (United Kingdom); Representative from the Nuclear Energy Agency; Garard Bruno, Head Radioactive Waste and Spent Fuel Management Unit, Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, IAEA; and Dave Huizenga, Principal Assistant Deputy Administrator for Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation (DNN) at the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
