Session 101 - Waste Incidental to Reprocessing and Lessons Learned - EFCOG Workshop (Part 1 of 2)

This all day workshop explored the regulatory processes, reviews, roles, approvals, and interactions for disposal or tank closure of Waste Incidental to Reprocessing (WIR) both by Citation and Evaluation under US DOE O 435.1 and Secretarial Waste Determinations under §3116 of the FY2005 NDAA.  Panelists discussed the HLW systems and programs at each of the four US DOE sites that manage HLW (Hanford, SRS, West Valley and INL) and the complexities, similarities and differences at each site. Insights were provided by the US DOE, their Contractors and regulators.
