Session 051A - Update on International Framework for Nuclear Energy Cooperation (IFNEC)

This panel provided an update on IFNEC progress in the last year including a report on a London Financing Workshop and an International Comprehensive Fuel Services approach to address the entire fuel cycle in a global context. The IFNEC is a multinational effort to advance the development of nuclear power in both developed and emerging nuclear states. IFNEC is a grouping of over sixty participants, international organizations, and observer countries interested in developing infrastructure that assures both the safe operation of nuclear power plants as well as the management of the backend of the fuel cycle. 

Panelists included: Ed McGinnis, IFNEC Steering Group, Chair and Deputy Assistant Secretary, Nuclear Energy, US DOE; John Mathieson, Head of International Relations, NDA (United Kingdom); and Paul Dickman, Argonne National Laboratory.
