Session 083 - Assessing the Blue Ribbon Commission Report and Recommendations - What Did They Say and What Does it Mean?

This panel focused on the final report by the Blue Ribbon Commission (BRC) on America’s Nuclear Future.  The January 2012 BRC Report included recommendations of all three subcommittees on transportation and storage, fuel cycle technologies, and final disposal.  Regardless whether America follows the BRC advice, this panel provided a forum to learn about what was recommended and debated how America should proceed.  Panel members were invited from the nuclear power industry, the regulatory community and other affected US organizations.

Panelists included: James Conca, Geopolitics of Energy; John Heaton, Former New Mexico State Legislator; Glenn Paulson, Senior Consultant to the Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future, Paulson and Cooper, Inc.; John Kessler, EPRI; Nigel Mote, Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board; and Steve Nesbit, Duke Energy (USA).
