Fluor Daniel Fernald is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fluor Daniel Inc., which is based in Irvine, Calif. The Fluor Daniel Fernald Team combines the resources of Fluor Daniel, an international engineering, construction, maintenance and technical services company, with those of Jacobs Engineering Group, Halliburton NUS Environmental Services Inc. and Nuclear Fuel Services, which provide additional expertise in the cleanup of uranium contamination, regulatory requirements at CERCLA sites, nuclear facilities decontamination and decommissioning, and related environmental projects.

Fluor Daniel Fernald is responsible for managing the environmental restoration activities at the Fernald Environmental Management Project (FEMP), a former U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) uranium production facility located about 20 miles northwest of Cincinnati.

Those activities include remediating site wastes, conducting studies of the site and surrounding areas to determine the nature and extent of contamination from past uranium productioin at the site, supervising engineering design efforts in support of environmental restoration, and pursuing related technology development efforts. In addition, Fluor Daniel Fernald is responsible for managing existing wastes and wastes generated and the safe handling and processing of raw materials and products resulting from past operations at the FEMP.
